Peter Pond Canoe and Kayak Race
The 38th Annual Milford Oyster Festival Canoe and Kayak Race will be held on Saturday August 18th at the Milford Boat Launch behind the Milford Public Library.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m

Kayak/Outrigger Race Course
|
The race course begins at the head of the harbor and continues out to the turnaround
point at Green Barrel #1 just before Charles Island.
Total Distance: 2.4 miles
Canoe Race Course - Racing & Novice Class
The race course begins at the head of the harbor and continues out to the turnaround point
at Buoy #8 just outside the harbor
Total Distance 1.2 miles
Trophies and certificates will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category. Mayor Ben Blake will officiate at the race and award the Mayor's Trophy to the 1st place boat in each category.

Safety Requirements:
- All participants are required to wear personal flotation devices
- One whistle (minimum) required per vessel.
- No person under 10 years old is permitted in boats
- Parental signature is required for all persons under 18 years of age.
- Competition cruisers and marathon pro boats are not allowed.

Oyster Shells at the Milford Oyster Festival will be recycled to seed oyster beds.
