The 42 nd Annual Milford Oyster Festival, sponsored by Jill Merriam’s Key Hyundai of Milford comes to downtown Milford on Saturday, August 20 th from 10am to 6pm.

The Milford Oyster Festival is one of the largest oyster festivals in the country and offers free admission and free shuttle buses. You can also take the train to the Milford train station, one block from the Green.

For the first time in its history, the Festival will host two headline bands, Blue Oyster Cult and The Marshall Tucker Band at the Fowler Field Main Stage. Opening for these bands is local favorites, The Rum Runners at 12:00pm. Blue Oyster Cult hits the stage at 2:00pm and The Marshall Tucker Band at 3:45pm. The Lisman Landing Harbor Stage will be headlined by Eaglemania at 3:00pm, a nationally recognized Eagle’s tribute band. They will be opened by Dizzy Fish at 12:45pm.

This family friendly event features 200 arts and craft vendors, a Big Toys area, amusement rides, children’s area, schooner cruises and the Festival Car Show, now at its new location on River Street in front of Milford Photo. There will be lots of great food and of course over 35,000 oysters with an oyster eating and shucking contest!

New to the Festival this year is a Craft Beer Garden serving 9 types of craft beer from Two Roads, Black Hog Brewing Company and Harpoon. The Craft Beer Garden is located at Lisman Landing and will be pouring the craft beer as well as premium wine on Oyster Eve and the day of the festival.

Oyster Eve, the Festival’s kick-off event is 6pm to 10pm on Friday, August 19th at Lisman Landing. Eaglemania will rock the stage under the stars. Craft beer, premium wine, oysters, great food and a sunset schooner cruise are all on tap for the evening. There is a $5.00 cover and children under 14 are free. Kids can ride the amusement rides all night for $25.
